I love this guy! I’ve loved this guy since I first met him (that’s when I learned about James A. Johnson). He’s written books on spirituality, psychology, psychology, philosophy, and more. In fact, he’s written a whole series of books on human motivation, which I’m really excited about. His books are an absolute treasure trove of information.
This is James A. Johnson. He is a man of many gifts. I think that when you read his books you are rewarded with an entirely new way of thinking about the world around you. Not because he is some kind of crazy genius, but because he truly cares about the people in his life. It will be interesting to see what he has to say now that he’s a father.
I’m always amazed by the number of people who, when they are sad, turn to reading. I think it’s because, in their mind, the reading makes their sadness worthwhile. But I think it is important to ask ourselves how much time we spend reading, and how much time our reading actually takes. I’ve found that I read about two hours per day on average.
People who are depressed tend to read at least two hours on average per day. I’m not sure if that is because of boredom, but also because it helps to maintain mood.
When I read, I tend to feel depressed and, like you, I find that reading helps maintain mood. I would guess that reading doesn’t help someone with mood disorders because it doesn’t trigger the feelings normally associated with those disorders. So its not like, “I have moods, so I’m depressed.” It just happens that reading helps maintain mood.
The point is, reading actually helps people maintain mood, not the other way around. The main difference in mood disorders is that certain moods are considered a part of normal life, while other moods are considered a sign of some disease or psychological disorder. Depression is a mood disorder, and you shouldn’t read to maintain mood. You should read for enjoyment, and you should read to help you maintain mood.
The problem with depression is that it’s an illness. You get depressed, and you must keep that fact straight in your head. If you have a good job, that’s fine, you can tell your boss you’re depressed because that makes you look good. But if you’re unemployed, it’s not fine. You can only tell your boss if you’re depressed because it makes you look like you’re going nowhere.
In the case of depression, you need to be aware of it so you can treat it. And if you cant get it under control, you will get depressed, and you will probably be depressed for a while. I know I was depressed for awhile after my wife left me, and in that time, I found myself depressed and miserable.
I never went through a depression like this, because its what I do for a living. But if youve had a bad day and gone to your boss and said, “Ive had a bad day, I need a job,” its a sign that you need to get a job. If youre not even making enough for your own family to survive, then you need to get a job. But if youre making too much to survive, you need to get a job.
This is the big difference between depression and anxiety. Depression is when you feel like youre going to lose your mind if you dont have work. Anxiety is when you just dont know what to do. We call it “depression” because it’s depressing. Anxiety is when you’re afraid of something, and you don’t know what to do about it.
