I was recently introduced to Jane Fields’ book, The Four Agreements. This is one of those books that is so incredibly useful and yet so incredibly hard to put into practice. She has the ability to describe to anyone the way we think, speak, act, and even the way we eat. The book is written in a format that is easy to follow, yet so hard to put into practice.
I first read it in college and I had to re-read it in college, so when I read it again I was reminded of how valuable Jane provides her listeners with her “Four Agreements.” For example, in the first chapter, she describes when we think we’re in a “flow state.” In the second chapter she describes the stages of a “flow state” and the fifth chapter is where she describes the stages of a “free flow state.
In the first chapter, Jane describes a flow state as she explains the stages. In the second chapter she describes the stages of a free flow state.
The most notable thing about these Agreements are that they don’t come much more than a paragraph or two long. Instead, they follow the format of a sentence or two and are often punctuated with exclamation marks. And when you’re speaking to someone in a flow state, you say more things that are grammatically correct and convey meaning. This is why it is not uncommon to see a flow state audio clip in a professional speaking setting, such as a lecture or seminar.
The point I am making is that flows are not actually bad, because, as the saying goes, “you dont have to use the car to get to the beach” (this is from a story by Jane Fields). Instead, the fact that they are not always as formal as the above quote suggests that they aren’t as important as they seem.
The story is told through jane’s POV and her character is an example of the type of writer that I have found to be the most effective when it comes to story telling. Unlike most writers, who tend to write in the style of the person that they are writing for, she does her own thing through the story. Instead of “he’s got his own way of telling a story,” she is telling the story through jane.
jane is not the sort of writer who would be writing a story like this one. Instead, she is writing a story about a character that is not really all that well known and therefore not as good an example of how to tell a story using the typical structure. In fact, I find it easier to tell stories that are told with a character POV.
That is not true. A character POV can be used to tell a story in a very simple way. It can be used to create a story that doesn’t use the typical structure. If a character can tell a story using a character POV, then they can tell a story more like Jane Fields Mark Fields, in which the character is the writer and the main character is the protagonist.
Jane Fields Mark Fields uses Jane Fields Mark Fields as a character POV because she has a unique and interesting perspective on life, which makes it easier for the audience to understand her viewpoint and take her seriously.
You can play a character as a writer and a protagonist, but it’s important to remember that the POV can also be a character POV. Jane Fields Mark Fields is a good example of that, as her perspective is unique, and her opinions are genuine. So while she may be a writer, she also acts like a character who is not a writer, and thus is not a POV character.
