I think it’s easy to get so caught up in “self-awareness” that we forget just how much we need to take care of ourselves.

My dad is often referred to as the ‘house manager’ of my family. He’s the boss of them all. He’s the person who makes sure my mom runs the house as well as the two of us. She often says she can’t do it because it would be too much of a hassle, or it would kill her, or she doesn’t think she can be trusted with a task.
