The reason we loved this David Levin is that is is the photographer who has been called the “photographer” of our generation. In fact, Levin’s work is as much a part of our culture as the movies, the television shows, the magazines, the music, and the paintings. It’s difficult to sum up David Levin’s work. I like that it’s so singular and individual while also so universal. That’s why I love his book. Its pages are filled with little essays and photos from his travels around the world. Each entry is so personal and unique, yet they are so universal. That’s why it’s so hard to put into words.
I know that its difficult to talk about his work and his life, but I can say that he has been a painter of some kind, a painter who has worked in a variety of art forms while still having an eye for the abstract. In fact, for at least the last 20 years David has been working in the abstract. This is great for him because he has a real skill for making things disappear.

This is something that David seems to really like. Because of his own personal experiences, he has been able to paint in a very specific way that allows him to make things disappear. For instance, when he paints a canvas, he is able to see a large part of what is on the canvas, but he can also see a small portion of it, and that small portion can get smaller and smaller until it disappears.
The idea of seeing something you own and then wanting to get rid of it isn’t new. What is new with David is that he has been able to use those memories of the paintings that come with them to create a system where he can make things disappear. This has helped him to create works of art that are harder to see than they might be otherwise.
David’s style is very unique and very difficult to describe but with two words, David is “Sawing” and “Unseen”. In his case, he is seeing the paintings, but he is not seeing the paintings themselves. He is seeing them through his own memories, but the memories are not the paintings themselves.
