David Asman is a business owner and entrepreneur whose business website has over a million page views per month. In addition to his website, David is a regular contributor to my blog and a regular guest on the show. In this episode, I interviewed David about his business, why he is so successful, and what it means to be a businessman.
And how do you know if you’re a good businessman? You’re smart and you’ve got an eye for a bad idea. I mean, a man like David seems like a man whose business is built on business.
How many of us have been around at the right time, and then it all goes to shit? I have been around a few decades (more or less). Like, in my late twenties to early thirties. I was a lawyer then, and I started my own law practice as I was working at a local office. I had a lot of good ideas and a lot of clients, but it was not always easy to get the funding to keep going.
Not hard to get a job with no client, but getting funding to keep your practice going is a lot harder. And when you have to work with a bunch of people from all over the world every single day and they don’t give you any money, well, you can’t even start a business. To make matters worse, people with small business ideas often don’t even want to pay you anything.
David Asman Fox has made his business quite successful. He is the CEO of a small-scale company that is mainly an online business with a few products. In fact, he is currently the only person who is able to get funding for his business to keep it going. And yes, he has a bunch of business cards hanging around to prove it.
The problem with small businesses is that the only people who can lend you money are those with money. And then you have people who are afraid to lend money to you if they know you’re so successful. With David Asman Fox it’s not so much about the money, it’s just about that he has a proven track record… and so you decide to give him a chance.
With a name like “David Asman Fox” you would think that this guy would not need or wish to hire his own bodyguard. But he does. He hires the best man in his office, and he has him trained very well. You see, David Asman Fox is also a part-time bodyguard, which means he has to get someone else to come in and do all the jobs that he’d rather not do himself.
David Asman Fox is a big guy, and he has just turned forty years old. The bodyguard job could be his only job, but he is also the father of three kids (including a one-year-old son). He doesn’t have a lot of time for anything else. You know, like work.
He is also a very good salesman, at least in this case. Every time he tries to sell the company a new product, he gets laughed out of the office. But it’s not just the fact that he is a salesman. His background as a bodyguard also makes him a very good thief. He can easily hide anything with his body and his well developed stealth skills, and he can get away with it because the company has no idea what he has on him.
