Welcome back to the show Benji Cohen. I’m your host, Benji Cohen. I’m a New York City-based journalist who specializes in the arts, with a particular interest in jazz and dance. I’ve been an avid lover of classical music since I was a young boy—I still get excited by the classics.
I recently did a piece on the life and career of composer Benji Cohen. I wrote it as Benji Cohen, and Benji’s response was very well done.
Benji was born in New Orleans in 1941. I’m not sure if he came from a large family or if his family was from New Orleans but it’s unlikely that his family was from New Orleans. He attended New Orleans University of Science and Mathematics but never finished college. He worked in construction for 30 years and studied a lot. In 1981 he moved to Seattle where he was hired as a janitor at the Paramount Theater.
Benjis original band was the Blue Suede Project. Their final album was called “You Could Be Mine”. It was a bit more than just a cover though. They changed their name to Benji Cohen because Benji was a fan of the movie “My Little Girl”. Benji Cohen had a hard time finding work because he was unemployed so Benji decided to make a band out of his spare time and do a cover of a song he wrote.

The Blues Machine is the band Benji Cohen formed out of his spare time in the 80s and he plays bass, guitar, keys, and drums.Benji Cohen also formed a band called the White Suede Project. The White Suede Project is Benji’s solo project and has a very unique sound that you can’t really get with any other bluegrass band. The band’s sound is very funky, and features a lot of banjo, fiddle, and banters.
That sound is so much fun, that in the bands name Benji Cohen also refers to a project he was working on called the Blue Suede Project. Like the White Suede Project, Benji has a very distinctive sound that is very unique. If you’re a fan of bluegrass, this is a band for you.
I guess Benji is a person who takes his guitar and his fingers to an all-time favorite bluegrass tune(s) and plays it over and over until it becomes his favorite.
I thought Benji was going to be a fun character to play, because he’s so funky, but I was wrong. He kind of comes across as a bit of a douchebag in the trailers and on the game’s website, but it’s really more of a mystery to me. I mean, the trailers and the game’s site use his name, but he is in fact the leader of the Blue Suede Project.
