André has an exciting new project for you to check out. It’s called Mindfulness in the Classroom and it combines the benefits of Mindfulness (which is about being present in our lives and the choices we make) with the benefits of a classroom. The idea is that teachers will be able to teach mindfulness as a way to help students better manage stress and anxiety in the classroom.
I love the idea of teachers teaching mindfulness in the classroom. In fact, I have taught mindfulness as a way to teach students and I have been very impressed. To me, it’s a great way for students to learn about being present in the moment. And if you want to see how to use mindfulness in the classroom, I am going to take you straight through the Mindfulness in the Classroom video.
It is difficult to discuss mindfulness in a group setting. Especially when most people have the exact same idea that mindfulness is a fad, a fad that is popular because it is good for everyone. And I don’t want to make it sound as if I am saying that mindfulness is bad. I am just saying that the way most people understand mindfulness is different from how I used to understand it.
I want to start by saying that mindfulness is a very broad term. It encompasses many different things, like how one thinks, how we react to stress, how we respond to pain, the way we engage with our surroundings, and the way we respond to our own thoughts. When we talk about mindfulness, we are referring to something that is specific to us. So you can have a completely different idea of mindfulness because you may not think about it the same way.
For example, many people who experience chronic pain have trouble sleeping or find it very difficult to concentrate for long periods of time. People with long-term pain tend to be very stressed and sometimes don’t sleep well. Both of these things can cause people to become very angry and frustrated. But if you think about it, being angry doesn’t necessarily make sense. If you are angry, you are more likely to respond with violence.
Yes it does. It’s the same reason why people who know a lot of violence and don’t know any people who don’t like violence think that what is happening is very horrible. It’s not the same thing as the world being made fair.
I think it’s important to recognize that this is a very common thing for people who are chronically stressed. I have been through it myself. I was working in an office and the office was so stressful that I literally fell asleep while dealing with things. I remember feeling like I was in a nightmare, and I remember going home to bed with my wife and thinking that the whole office was a dream that we were all experiencing, and then I realized that it was actually happening for real.
And it doesn’t help that we’re all having a really hard time right now. I mean, we’re in the midst of a very stressful recession. I recently took on a new position at an office, and I’ve been trying to put together a good performance review for the position. It was easy for me to say “I love this job” while doing it, but it’s difficult when you’re dealing with a boss who is constantly stressed (and who’s been going through a divorce).
