Nevertheless, the German team finishes the Women’s Series 2022 in a strong fourth place behind Canada, France, and the USA.
Robert Birkenhagen: “In the end, it became the fourth place. We lost the group match against the USA and played Romania in the quarterfinals. It was a difficult game, the atmosphere was really great, but we kept a cool head and were able to prevail relatively well in the end. In the semifinals, we lost to the eventual winners of Canada. Overall, we can be super satisfied. Especially since Alex took a blow to the hip and then didn’t play in the semifinals out of caution. Luana, Svenja, and Sunny have thrown everything in, but unfortunately, it was not enough. Still, a conciliatory end from the Women’s Series season, and now it’s a matter of planning in the next few weeks so that we can get everything out of our possibilities next year.”
